Your Hot Air Balloon adventure begins when you meet your Pilot and Flight Crew approximately a 1/2-hour before sunrise in a quaint little town known as Elora. You will meet at the Grand River Raceway, from where you will be driven to a farmers field at which point your flight crew will brief you on your upcoming balloon adventure. Then, you will watch with awe as your balloon takes shape before your eyes, ultimately standing more than 10 stories tall. Once fully inflated and ready for take off, you will climb into the gondola and begin your Hot air ballooning adventure that will give new meaning to the word serenity.
During your flight you will get a spectacular bird's eye view of the picturesque Elora and Fergus area as you gently drift over the countryside where you will watch out for wildlife and take in the magnificent views. Depending on wind direction you may gently drift over the Elora Gorge, and follow the river as it winds through and carves the landscape. You will be able to wave hello to campers and fellow Grand River country residents and take pictures of the marvelous country views.
After about an hour in the air, your pilot will be on the look out for a safe landing spot. This will add to this exciting experience as you slowly and gently glide down towards the ground, here the balloon may almost skim tree tops and corn fields which definitely gives you a glimpse of the 'bird eye view'. Once on the ground, together with your crew, you will share in the oldest of ballooning traditions; a champagne toast (or juice for those driving) and here you will revel in the peace, tranquility and beauty that you never knew existed! After the celebration your crew, pilot will be shuttled back to the original meeting spot where you can make your way home or enjoy a wonderful meal in some of Elora's finest restaurants.

From a passenger’s perspective, the oldest form of flying is simple and comfortable. There is no swaying or feeling of motion. Dawn riders enjoy spectacular sunrises and the crispness of a new day while evening flyers are often met by cheers from backyard spectators and a caravan of followers. Both times of balloon flight are inspirational. Balloon flying takes place at sunrise or two hours before sunset. Ballooning is weather dependent.
We'll meet at the departure point from where you will be driven to a launch site that best accommodates the given wind direction. Upon arrival, the balloon is unpacked and readied for flight while you are being provided a face to face preflight brief for your safety. Twenty minutes or so later, the 7 story balloon takes shape and then you will board for the launch. We wave farewell to the onlookers and gently ascend to the sky.
During your flight you will get a spectacular better than bird's eye view of the picturesque countryside. From height vista views of Georgian Bay, Lake Simcoe, Lake Scugog and Lake Ontario. On a clear day even the Toronto Skyline with its distinctive CN Tower is visible. A short time later we descend for some contour flying, skimming of treetops and corn fields visiting places only a balloon can traverse. Sometimes we see wildlife foraging or discover a hidden meadow gem. Every flight is unique and wonderful.
After about 45 minutes in the air, your Pilot will be on the lookout for a safe landing spot. This adds to the excitement as we slowly glide down towards the ground. Once landed, the balloon is secured and readied for its next voyage. Then together with crew we share in a 200 year ballooning tradition, the champagne toast (juice and other nonalcoholic beverages for youths and those driving also available). Once the celebration is complete you are shuttled back to our original meeting spot where we say our farewells and you are left to enjoy the rest of your day.
